TCAP Tutoring

TCAP tutoring opportunities continue for West End students this week (except for Friday) and next week. Click here for more information. Also, there is one more Saturday TCAP prep available on April 26. The session is from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and is held in the cafeteria. Every student who is present for a minimum of 90 minutes will be entered into a drawing for $100! The drawing will take place at exactly noon, and the winning child's parent must be present to win the $100 bill on the spot! No School Friday
Remember: There is no school Friday for teachers and students.

PTSO Meeting Next Monday
Join us in the library, Monday, April 21, at 5:30 for the last PTSO meeting of the year! We will get updates and information for the last events of the school year, as well as vote on next year's PTSO board.


Important Information for Rising 7th Graders
Students currently enrolled in 6th grade and entering the 7th grade in August 2014 must provide the school an updated Tennessee Immunization Certificate with proof of two additionalimmunizations:

1. Tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis booster ("Tdap"; required regardless of Td history (2013 update)

2. Verification of immunity to varicella (2 doses or history of disease)

We are reminding/encouraging 6th grade parents to have your child immunized NOW to eliminate long waits in June/July. Incoming 7th graders will not be permitted to enroll/begin the 7th grade without the immunizations, so please schedule your child now to address this requirement early!!

Chipotle Anyone? Support the Hillsboro Tennis Team April 22 from 3-6pm!
Chipotle in Green Hills will donate 50 percent of sales from 3-6pm on Tuesday, April 22, to anyone who brings in this flyer  or even just mentions the HHS Tennis Team Fundraiser! Please grab an after-school snack or dinner at the Chipotle at 3900 Hillsboro Pike (next door to the high school) in support of Hillsboro Tennis!

Sidewalks for Bowling Avenue Community Meeting
On Wednesday, April 23, there will be an informational and input-gathering meeting about a proposal to construct new sidewalks along Bowling Avenue from West End to Woodmont. The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 in the West End library. 

Mayor Announces Third Annual Field Day 
The third annual Mayor’s Field Day with the Tennessee Titans will be held on Saturday, May 3, at LP Field. Mayor’s Field Day is entirely free and open to the public. Youth ages 5 and up, adults of all ages, and individuals of all fitness levels are invited to come play where the Titans play. Click here to learn more.

Lady Burros Volleyball Camp
This June, Hillsboro High School will be hosting a four-day volleyball camp for girls in rising 5th through 8th grade. Girls of all ability levels are welcome to attend. The camp will focus on skill development. Players will learn passing, setting, hitting, serving, blocking, and defense.
The camp will be held at Hillsboro High School, and the cost is $100, which can be mailed to the adress below. Parents and guardians must provide transportation to and from camp. Scholarships are available. Please contact Coach Rucker ( with any questions or concerns. Late registrations and walkups are still welcome through the first day of camp. **Bring water bottle, shoes, knee pads, ankle braces, towel, snacks, and a GREAT attitude!

Help J.T. Moore Win a Grant!
Bridgestone is awarding $25,000 to transform one exceptional outdoor space, and J.T. Moore’s project submittal was chosen as one of the 12 finalist projects from across the U.S. and Canada in Bridgestone's “Fuel the Cause – Help Bridgestone Transform a Green Space in Need” contest.
